Frequently asked questions
Is it really free, with no sign-up?
Yes. There is no account, no subscription and no limit on the number of invoices. The site is funded by clearly labelled own offers.
Where does my data go?
Nowhere. The invoice is created in your browser. Only if you tick “Save on this device” does your browser keep your entries locally. You can also save the invoice as a file and open it again later.
How do I get a PDF?
Tap “Print / save as PDF” and choose “Save as PDF” (Mac, iPhone, Android) or “Microsoft Print to PDF” (Windows) in the print dialogue. The layout is set for A4.
Does the tool know the rules of my country?
The international mode checks only the basic details that almost every country requires (seller, customer, number, date, items). Additional national requirements – for example registration numbers or mandatory notes – are your responsibility. The German modes check the German VAT Act in full.
Is a PDF an e-invoice?
No. An e-invoice is a structured data file (e.g. XRechnung, ZUGFeRD, FatturaPA, Peppol). In some countries e-invoices between businesses are already mandatory, for example in Italy, Poland and Belgium. There, this PDF does not replace the e-invoice.
What is the QR code on the invoice?
An EPC QR code (also called GiroCode) for SEPA transfers. Your customer scans it with their banking app and the payee, IBAN, amount and reference are filled in. It appears for euro invoices with a valid IBAN.
